Dresser and Dryer

Today we got some super fun things given to us. My mom gave me this way cute antique dresser for Skylar to have in her room. Skylar had no dresser. We hung up all her shirts and dresses and everything else was stored on a very small white rack thingy. So, this was so needed and I'm excited to have it. Skylar is excited too! As soon as I got home from work she came up to me, put her hands on her hips and said "I want to wear my dress!" I said, "what dress?" She folded her arms and stomped into her bedroom and pointed to the dresser and said again, "I want to wear my dress." I explained to her that it's called a dresser and she needed to put her clothes in it. Then she said, "mom, let's put all my clothes in it. So, we did and she loved every minute of it! Thanks mom, she's so excited!! I love it, it's super cute! I'm trying to decide if I should refinish it, or just leave it as it is.

Also we were given a dryer. Michael's nephew (I think) was moving out of their house and the farm was having a new dryer put in for the new renters and they gave us the old dryer. Our dryer still works...sometimes. We have to latch it so the door stays closed and sometimes it doesn't start and sometimes it doesn't heat up. For the most part it still works though. But we were happy to accept a new dryer with no problems because we just don't know when the other one will finally give out. We haven't put it in yet but will soon. Thanks Michael and Loren for the dryer, it will be used a lot!!

Yard Sale

Today Carrie and I went and did a yard sale for my parents at their old home in Mapleton. I'm glad Kerby was able to help set up and take down, we were so tired. It was nice to sit and visit with Carrie though. Also we discovered that my parents are really going to miss their nice big trees in their yard. They were so nice to sit under in the heat.

Brave At The Drive-In

We just got home from watching Brave at the Drive-In theater in Mount Pleasant. I am so sad I didn't bring a camera to take a few pics of everyone watching. It was a fun movie and a really fun place to watch it. The kids have never been to a drive-in theater and I think Kerby and I have only been once. The kids of course thought it was the coolest thing ever and want to watch lots of movies there. It really wasn't that far away for us either, I think it only took about 40-45 minutes to get there. That was worth it and the prices were a little bit less than the regular theaters. Will we go there every time we have a movie? No. It sure was fun though.
Brave was a super cute movie, and not exactly how I thought it would be either. It reminded of Brother Bear a lot but was different enough that it was still a great movie. I loved her curly red hair, and her three little brothers. I think the only part I didn't like was the part where it shows the maid put the key into her breasts and one of the little boys falling in face first to grab the key. Why does that need to be in there? It really didn't need to be there. What's happening to you Disney?
Overall I did really like the movie and the plot!

Cinnamon Sticks

Have you ever tried the Cinnamon Sticks from Main Street Pizza in Santaquin? If you have then you know that they have the best cinnamon sticks ever!! If you haven't then you are truly missing out on a great dessert. I wish I had taken a picture of them so you could see how mouth watering they look. Oh they were just so good I savored every bite. Also they are no stingy with the frosting. By the way, I don't care much for frosting but this frosting was the bomb!!! Sooooo good! I'll definitely be getting them more. Oh, I'll have to take a picture next time we get some. Oh ya and guess what? They're only $2.99!

Last Hit

Today Kadin played his last baseball game of the season. He played his 3rd State game and they lost 0-13. It was a fun game to watch but a sad one. Even after losing the team was still upbeat and happy (for the most part). They played Moab and they were very good at getting players out at first base and the pitcher was really good too. I still say Kadin had an awesome team, they played awesome and always had good attitudes. They were never rude to another team mate, or anyone from another team. They always showed very good sportsman ship. This year Kadin learned a lot about baseball, his coach was really good and knew each boy very well and how to motivate each one of them. It was a great year for baseball! Way to go Santaquin Red's!
Kadin was the last one to hit the ball on his team. He wasn't last up to bat but last to hit the ball. He thought that was pretty exciting! Here's a pic of him right after he hit the ball.

State Baseball

Kadin's baseball team made it to State this year and today he had his first two games. He for sure has one more tomorrow but hopefully he'll have more. Today they played the Spanish Fork Phillies and won 16-0. Then they played the Mapleton Yankees and lost 6-2. There was still 25 seconds left in the game and in the rules it says that if there is any time left at all at the end of an inning then they do another inning, unless they've already played all six innings. They had only played 4 so the ump shouldn't have called it a game. Who knows what will happen there but the boys really had a great time today. Kadin's had an awesome coach this year and has really learned a lot and enjoyed it a lot. Every boy on his team has been great too, no one is unkind to any of the team mates, they all cheer for each other too. It's been a fun baseball season. And yes, I still need to post the pics I have of some of all my boys games. Here are a few from today's games.

Skylar At The Dentist

Skylar had her first dental check up today and she did so good! Here she is getting x-rays. Everything they asked her to do she did without hesitation.
She loved the big cow chair.
Here she is getting ready to have her teeth cleaned. She's tipping her head back so she can watch the movie on the ceiling. The tech started moving the chair back but she was too impatient. Then when he got it all the way back she stayed this way until I went and straightened her head. It was so funny!
Here she is watching the "loovie" (that's how Skylar says it). Looking pretty stylish! Actually none of it lasted very long. She took the sunglasses and headphones off within a minute of having them on.
Saying cheese! So, she had one small cavity on a back, upper tooth. We're really happy because we haven't been very good at helping her brush her teeth. We thought she'd have lots of cavities. Guess this is our second chance to do better with her teeth. Man I hope she has Kerby's genes as far as teeth go. Fisher too, I already know Kadin and Levi have my teeth genes...poor kids!
Skylar loved the dentist, which makes me so happy. All my kids like the dentist, I completely dislike it so I'm so glad they like it.
And I just had to throw this in here. Tonight she sneaked out of bed, grabbed a box of Pringles, laid down on the floor and started eating them. Well, then she fell asleep with one in her hand. I walked in the room with it still in her hand then watched it drop out of her hand onto her cheek.
