Soaked!

Today my booth had some major trouble at the Country Farm Fest I was at. Stuff blew over and got rained on and everything was just a huge mess, including me! I had my paparazzi set up for about 30 minutes then this huge storm ripped through. We found out it would last most the day, it did seem to be pretty clear the last third of the day, but still windy and all my stuff was soaked anyways. I guess I should have just gone to work today. :) Tomorrow WILL be better! It has to be!
If it weren't for the pony man Ty I would have been in major trouble! With his help we got everything taken down really fast, even stuff blowing around! Our fingers were so numb by the time we were done, I would have had a really hard time doing that alone. Thank you Ty, you're are one of the kindest people I've ever met! Ty has helped me both days whenever I've had problems, he's helped everyone!
In fact, this is Ty right here, I love his awesome curly mustache! Fisher and Skylar saw how much he'd been helping me and decided they wanted to spend their own money to ride his ponies even though I'll be paying for them to go tomorrow!
Love that smile! They sure had a fun time!
 Priceless face on Skylar!
They're checking out the squealing pigs!

Paparazzi Booth & Antibiotic Overdose

Last night I set up for my paparazzi booth at Country Farm Event in Payson. I was doing so good and had everything (not my jewelry and hair accessories) set up way early. Well I got a call at 7 am from Amelia saying my canopy had blown over and was probably broken, and that most the canopies blew over. Oh ya and my mirror had broken. So, I hurried and finished loading my inventory and got kids ready and we headed over. The damage wasn't as bad as I thought and it was pretty easy to get back up. Only a couple things (on my brand new canopy) broke. So, I was relieved and and hurried and set everything up again.
This is how it looked when I got there, after they had gathered up my stuff. My tablecloths were wet from the rain and everything!
Such a cute canopy! Pretty much ruined after the first use!
So, the parts we staked into the hard gravel road stayed in place, the poles just slid out of all of them, then it tipped! If it hadn't been for the huge block Kerby had tied to one corner my canopy would have been inside the animal cage where the petting zoo is!
This is how I was set up (minus the walls to help in case it was windy again.
This is after taking down 2 hours early. My display boards fell over twice from gusts of wind and it wasn't ending so I called it a night. Most people did. My display board fell into one of the poles so it pulled my tent partway down and bent one of the poles pretty bad. :( I guess that's what happens when you buy a cheap tent! Kerby came after work and really got the poles in good and staked up good (I sure hope so anyways), but after we took down we decided to take the walls off over night so the wind has nothing to pick up!
I'll be there tomorrow, Saturday and the next Friday and Saturday too, so come on down!
When we got home we unloaded everything, while we were unloading Skylar took it upon herself to give herself her antibiotic for her ear infection! If I calculated correctly she took 5 to 6 tsp of it. Her dose is 1 1/2 tsp! So I called poison control and they said they don't send them to the hospital unless it's been 10 or more teaspoons. She said to keep her hydrated so it doesn't damage her kidneys and that she's have diarrhea. So, at least she is ok. I'm sooo not happy that she knows how to open those bottles!

Dance Festival

Today the elementary school had their dance festival and I got to see all my boys dance this year. I was pretty fun to watch, and it's interesting, although not surprising to see their reactions as they age. You know like worrying about what others might think or embarrassed they have to dance with a girl. Here are the fun videos I took, if I can get them to download!
Here's Kadin's dance, unfortunately I thought I had pushed record on my camera, but most the way through the song my camera turned off because of not being used. :( So I missed most of his dance. It was funny at times too because there were a couple times one of the girls he was dancing with yanked him in closer to her and it surprised him. Kadin's the one in the gray, plaid shirt.
This is Fisher's video! What a funny, cute kid he is!
He's the one in the green and white striped shirt.
Here's Levi's, I think he enjoyed dancing with a girl!
He's in the black shirt with a blue and red baseball cap on.
:( I couldn't ever get his video to load. I'll try some other things in a few days.

Thank you!!

Today I received the stuff I won from paparazzi by winning 2nd place in the Dazzling Display contest. I'm so excited about what I received! Thank you so much to all my friends, family and many strangers who supported me in this by voting and posting it on your walls for others to vote. You all are so amazing! Thank you paparazzi for doing the contest and for such an awesome prize! By the way, my prize was supposed to be $50 worth of stuff.  Well guess what? They sent me $65 worth of stuff. I'm super excited and they sent it just in time for my 5 day event I have coming up in Payson. I'm so happy and thankful to be involved with such a great company!
This is everything I won!

 A personal jewelry hanger.
5 of their new paparazzi gift bags.
And this huge, awesome tablecloth! I was really wanting one of these so I'm so happy they gave me one!!! All these things will be very useful!

Fall Pumpkin & General Conference

My mother in-law Nancy was here visiting so we could go to General Conference.  She brought this fun pumpkin block craft for us to do and I think they turned out really cute. Of course it took me forever to do them because I'm a perfectionist when it comes to this sort of thing. It was really fun though and I really like them! The kids don't think they look like pumpkins, but that's ok, they sure fit the season and look great.

Yesterday Kerby and I went with Jared and Mandee, my brother and sister in-law to the Sunday morning session of General Conference. It was wonderful to sit in peace (without distraction from kids) to hear what the prophet and apostles and other leaders of the church had to say. It was so uplifting and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to go. I couldn't believe how many people showed up in hopes to get tickets to go in and listen. I was wishing I had lots of extra tickets to hand out. We were all ready to hand over out tickets to some people from Chile and India holding up signs saying that's where they were from to watch. I got very emotional and got teary eyed seeing that they traveled such a great distance to be able to experience in person the words of the leaders of the church. Rest assured I'm pretty sure everyone waiting for tickets was able to go inside because there were still a few empty seats left after they started letting them in. What an uplifting session and weekend I had. Thank you so much Kerry and Nancy for watching all our kids and Jared and Mandee for planning it and inviting us.
I'm so excited about the news for Elder missionaries to leave at age 18 and Sisters at age 19. I was so surprised and know it's going to be a wonderful thing. It did make me realize that Kadin will be 18 in 6 years and 2 months!!! Will he be ready? I know it's only a year difference for him, this just made me think more. Have I taught him enough? I don't think I have done enough on my part to prepare him for a mission. So, I need to be a stronger member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and teach my family more about it.
Jared and Mandee
We had some really good seats. The seating, parking and everything went very smoothly, I thought we'd have to wait in line forever just to get anywhere, but we really didn't.

Yep, more squash!

Tonight I made up another squash recipe. It was good, but by far not my favorite. It was really easy though so I'd make it again if I had all the items and very little time.
Recipe:
Yellow Squash & Sausage Skillet

1 lb sausage
2 or 3 yellow squash
1 medium onion
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp parsley
1 tsp minced garlic
1 16 oz jar marinara sauce
1/2 c. grated mozzarella cheese

Brown sausage in a large skillet, add seasonings. Slice squash and onion, add to skillet. Mix in marinara sauce, heat on medium heat till sauce is bubbling. Add grated cheese to the top then serve.

John Carter

Well we had never heard of this movie so I wasn't sure how it would be when my kids picked it out from Redbox. It turned out to be a pretty good one. Although I fell asleep through parts of it, what I did see I thought was really good, really weird and different but good. Most of the movie takes place on Mars (yes there really is life on Mars) and it's really cool to see how John has to get around. The characters are cool too, my kids really liked all the monsters on there, especially the fast moving dog/monster. I'm sure I'll wake up to my kids already re-watching it in the morning.
