The Rise of Nine

Well being sick most the weekend I read a lot, so today I finished the 3rd book of The Lorien Legacies, The Rise of Nine. I really enjoy these books and don't like putting them down (that's how I am with most books though). This book has more swearing in it than the second, but not as much as the first. My favorite one so far is the second and not just because there was less swearing, it really is a better book than the other two. In this third book we meet every Loric accept for #5. All of them except for 5 end up fighting the main Mogodorian, Setrákus Ra they're doing pretty good but about to give up and get out to train more but Setrákus Ra beats them to it and vanishes first.  They were at least able to rescue Sam, Six and Sarah though. The book ended with a pretty good cliff hanger and I really don't like that I have to wait till next August to be able to read the next one. Meanwhile, I hope the second movie comes out but I don't see anything about a second movie.

The Power Of Six

I thought the first book I Am Number Four was good, but this one was even better. It had less swearing too, which made me happy. In this book Pittacus Lore jumps between two different perspectives: Number Four and Number Sevens and it made for a fun, interesting read. It had more action in it and it was nice to read about other Lorien's. Number Seven and her Cepan ended up at an orphanage and her Cepan, Katarina got so comfortable she lost sight of what their mission really was, so when the mogodorians came they weren't ready for them.  In this book we find out that instead of 9 of them there are actually 10 that made it to Earth but the Mogodorian's don't know that...yet.  I enjoyed this book a lot and am excited to read the third. I'm also excited for the second movie to come out.

The Haunting Of Autumn Lake

If you read The Visions Of Ransom Lake by Marcia Lynn McClure then you must read this book. The Visions Of Ransom Lake is my favorite book of hers and The Haunting of Autumn Lake is book about Ransom's daughter. I'm a major fan of Marcia Lynn McClure's books. I love her style of writing and have never read a book from another author who writes like her. I'm a sap for clean romance. I've never been disappointed in one of her books and this one did not disappoint either. The only thing I don't like when reading one of her books is that the books ends. I just don't want it to end, but then that's how I feel about 95% of the books I read, I just want it to keep going and going. So, I love that she wrote a book continuing the story but with new characters too. Now we need a third Marcia. :)
Oh wait, I guess there is one more thing about her books that I don't like. Well it's not that I don't really like it, I just am a tiny bit bugged about it. Sometimes she has spelling or grammar errors, but that's ok. She should hire me to proofread her books. :) I would love that! Heck I'd do it for way less than what she's paying now I bet. I don't care though, I absolutely love her books!

Unearther

I finished reading the book "Unearthed" by Lara Stauffer and I didn't want to put it down, I would get so sad when my kindle battery would die and I'd have to stop reading.  It was very good and really made me want to re-read the Book Of Mormon, especially the sections it refers to. In this book the story takes place in our time and in Book of Mormon times...33 AD. It was a great read, very clean and anyone could read it and really enjoy it. I didn't think this would be my style of read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a few grammar errors and misspelled words but I don't know that I've ever read a book I haven't found those in. I really should be a Proofreader because I can spot those errors really good, probably too good. Ok, for those of you laughing right now because you've seen many errors in my posts, you can laugh at my expense. :) I actually don't reread through my posts (usually) so don't really catch it if I have errors. I guess maybe I should start doing that. Anywho (hehe) back to the book. I recommend this book to anyone, I'd love my kids to read this book. You really need to read this book. My complaint about this book is that I wanted more at the end. I didn't want to put it down so when I had to because it was over I was sad.
Matt's spent years resenting his father and the church, but a once-in-a-lifetime archaeology trip forces Matt to face more than he bargained for as he and his father unearth a city that's been lost for centuries. This thrilling adventure is bursting with laugh out loud humor, a touch of romance, and more than a little mystery. A fun read for the whole family.

I Am Number Four

I finished reading this book today and it was pretty good. There was a little swearing in it so I didn't like that but it wasn't too bad.  Other than that it was a good book, better than the movie of course. It's a book that covers a lot of territories; aliens, superheroes, high school, bullying, romance and more. Was it a book that I couldn't put down? No, it wasn't. I also didn't have the time to not put it down either but I wasn't so excited to read it that I was looking for any spare minute I could read. I would read the other books in the series, just not sure if I'd buy them. I'm rooting for John and the others to save earth and their own planet too though. :)

Cinder and Ella

I read this book on my new Kindle Fire. The first book I've read on there!! I had kind of been wanting to read it and Nancy, my mother in-law had downloaded it so I decided to read it.  The story line was fun and completely different from the traditional Cinderella story. Author Melissa Lemon does imply that this story is nothing like the traditional story. Cinder and Ella are two sisters who are bossed around by their family. Their father goes missing and in this book the Prince is the villain. It was pretty good and very imaginative. Unfortunately there were a lot of unanswered questions, which I don't like in books. Overall it was a good read though, one I think pre-teen or early teenage girls would really like.

A Better Reason To Fall In Love

I borrowed this book from Tina to read while traveling to Nevada and back. I didn't get much reading done but got to read yesterday and today after lots of cleaning was accomplished. Still so much to do too! I really love Marcia Lynn McClure's books. I haven't ever read one that I didn't like. She's one of my favorite authors and her books are one of my favorite style of books to read. This book was no exception. It was fabulous just like all her other books. All her books are clean romance (Julie, no smut but I think you'd still like her books) and very fun to read. I do enjoy reading her books more that take place in older times but her newer modern ones are really good too. You are a fabulous and very fun author Marcia Lynn McClure! I also like the names you use for your characters, in this case Jagger and Tabby. Here is the book description.
Tabby glanced up to see the sales and marketing analyst for the company, Jagger Brodie, walking-rather sauntering-toward the PR office. Without realizing it, a heavy sigh of something akin to longing escaped Tabby's lungs as she watched Jagger Brodie cross the main office space. He was entirely the most attractive man Tabby had ever known-not that she really knew him well, but she knew him well enough to know he was hot! Tall, dark, and handsome, Jagger Brodie looked as if he'd stepped directly out of some sort of trendy clothing store ad, only wearing a business suit instead of nothing but a pair of jeans. He had the deepest green eyes Tabby had ever seen, a flawlessly chiseled jawline, and ebony hair that alluringly beckoned to be combed with female fingers-Tabby's fingers. "Boom chicka wow wow!" Emmy whispered. "Absolutely!" Tabby breathed as she watched Jagger Brodie saunter past. She envied Jocelyn for a moment, knowing he was most likely on his way to drop something off on Jocelyn's desk or to speak with her. Jocelyn got to talk with Jagger almost every day, whereas Tabby was lucky if he dropped graphics changes off to her once a week. "Ba boom chicka wow wow!" Emmy whispered again. "He's sporting a red tie today. Ooo, the power tie! He must be feeling confident." Tabby smiled, amused and yet simultaneously amazed at Emmy's observation. She'd noticed the red tie too. "There's a big marketing meeting this afternoon," she told Emmy. "I heard he's presenting some hardnosed material." "Then that explains it," Emmy said, smiling. "Mr. Brodie's about to rock the company's world!" "He already rocks mine...every time he walks by," Tabby whispered.

Speed Of Light

Product Details
Today I finished the book Speed Of Light by Lee Baker. It took me quite a while to read, not because it wasn't interesting, just because I literally haven't had a chance to sit down and read much. I've been so excited and busy getting my paparazzi business together it's taken up a lot of time, well that and doing some deep cleaning.
Anyways, this is a good book. It's very interesting and would be so cool if and when our technology gets this far.  It's about a company who builds an airplane that goes as fast as the speed of light and when they test it on a human some very interesting things happen to him. He sorta gains superpowers. This book made me concentrate on what I was reading so I could understand it better and I really liked that. Very good book! Thanks again Amanda for the suggestion and for letting me borrow it. You all should read it, it's really good.

Supernaturally

I finished the 2nd book Supernaturally, in the Paranormalcy series by Kiersten White .  I think I liked the first book a little more but I still liked this one. They're not my favorite books but I'm glad I read them and got some entertainment from them for a few days. I did like them enough that I'm anxious for the 3rd book Endlessly to come out in July. I know some people who love, love, love this book and I do really like it a lot. Just give them a read and find out for yourself if you like them. If you like books about vampires, hags, faeries, mermaids and all those kinds of creatures and you like clean romance then you'll like them. Go find it in your library and give it a try.  Hey, did you know unicorns are really ugly? Haha! Well, in this book they are, so are vampires and many other things (at least to Evie). :)

Paranormalcy

Today I finished reading this book Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. It's a really good book and I got the second book from the library at the same time so when I was done with this one I immediately wanted to pick up the next. The next one is called Supernaturally. There's also one coming out in July called Endlessly. This book reminded me a little of The Hour Glass Door series (if you haven't read those, read them!) and a little bit of Twilight. There are vampires but they aren't made "beautiful" in these books...at least not in Evie's (the main character) eyes. She sees Paranormal creatures for what they really are, she sees them how the world sees them and how they look underneath. You'll just have to read the books to know what I mean. These books are very clean, no swearing or anything bad at all. I have to admit for some reason it took me a few short chapters to get into the book but after that I didn't want to put it down. I love the characters and how she portrays all the creatures we all hear of in other books like werewolves, mermaids, hags and nymphs. Such a good book! Returning it to the library tomorrow, if you want to read it hurry in! Thanks Karrie for introducing them to me, let me know how you're liking The Maze Runner!

The Death Cure

I finished The Death Cure, the last book in The Maze Runner trilogy. I'm so sad that I'm finished, I want to read more. I can't wait till August when The Death Order, the book that takes place BEFORE the first book. It should be really good. James Dashner is a very talented writer, he has a great imagination and a knack for adding just the right twists.  This book provoked some teary eyes, one of my favorite characters died. OK I think I've cried a little in every book but more in this one.  Not that it's easy to make me cry! These books drew me in very quickly, I'm so glad I didn't have to wait for any of them to be written.  A lot of times the last book in the series (The Mockingjay...for me) is a little disappointing but this book wasn't a disappointment. Yes, I wanted more but the book was great and had a awesome ending to an amazing series. I think I'll check out his 13th Reality series soon.

The Scorch Trials

I already finished the 2nd book in The Maze Runner trilogy by James Dashner. I couldn't put the book down. Here's what I thought about the first book Everything Kristi!: The Maze Runner and this one is even better! These books are quickly becoming my favorite books I've read! I don't want to say too much about the books because I don't like giving away the stories, but I'll tell you a little bit. The human race is dying because of the hot sun and a virus called the Flare, the Government is using teens to try to find a cure. I'm so nervous for these teens!
They are such good books, I can't wait to read more! I can't wait for the movies either, I just hope they do a good job!

The Maze Runner

I finished reading one of the best books I've ever read, The Maze Runner by James Dashner. If you like Hunger Games then you'll like this. In fact I think I like it better than The Hunger Games, it all depends on how the books end (the ending of the Hunger Games trilogy kind of made me like it less).  People are comparing it to The Hunger Games, myself included but it's quite different.  It's along the same line because teens are forced to do terrible things but I didn't come away angry or really sad like I did reading The Hunger Games....maybe that's because The Hunger Games numbed my emotions. Nah, I don't think so, it's just not the same. I borrowed them from my friend Amanda but I plan to buy them. Ok I'm editing this post and adding this...if you DIDN'T like The Hunger Games I still think you should give this a shot because it really is different and it's very good! I don't like to give away the story line so I won't tell you what's in the book but I think you'll like it.
The Maze Runner is intense and exciting and just when you know what's going on or what will happen next the surprises come again and you're left wanting more. I anticipate the next books in the trilogy to be just as good. Possibly my new favorite trilogy! All 3 books are out, the 2nd book is The Scorch Trials and 3rd is The Death Cure. Also he's writing a 4th book called The Death Order and this book is supposed to take place BEFORE the events in the first book The Maze Runner. I can't wait for the movie in 2013!

The Chimney Sweep Charm

Yes another book review. I pulled an almost all nighter and read this entire book because it was due back to the library so I had to get it read. I was planning on finishing during the day but ended up staying up till 4:30 reading it, once I started I surprisingly didn't fall asleep or feel tired, even after I was done I had a hard time falling asleep. Usually when I read at night I fall asleep a lot faster than I want.
The Chimney Sweep Charm is another book by Marcia Lynn McClure and it was quite charming. I love her book. Most of them are set in old fashion times but not this one. This one was more up with the times. I love both versions she writes though. Getting back into reading her books again makes me want to re-read my favorites from her. This is not one of my favorites but it was still good. All her books are good, I haven't read one I didn't like. I believe my favorite is The Visions of Ransom Lake.
I obviously enjoyed reading this book though because I read without stopping. I do wish it hadn't ended so quickly though. Marcia Lynn is so descriptive in her writing it's very easy to imagine being there, I almost feel like I'm watching a movie while reading her books.

Kissing Cousins

I finished this book Kissing Cousins by Marcia Lynn McClure. She's one of my favorite authors. I love all of her books, this one included. It's not my favorite but worth the read to me. No, it's not about cousins kissing each other, but about friends who kiss each others cousins...does that make sense? Good! I love how she expresses herself through her writing, I love the way she writes and the words she uses. If you haven't read any of her books and you like clean romance then you should read hers. It's been a while since I did a book review on here, it's been a while since I read one of her books too so I'm glad I read another one and that I get to give a good review for it.
