Baseball
Well the busy baseball season has officially started and I didn't have my camera and my phone was dead so I couldn't capture any moments of Kadin and Levi's first games. I wasn't able to go to Levi's game because Kadin had one at the same time in Genola. We're not sure what the score was for Levi's game but they lost. Kadin's team won 15-9 so that was pretty awesome. Next time I'll have to remember my camera. I love watching baseball games, but it sure is a busy time.

Detox
Today Kerby and I started the 3-14 day detox for the M.D. Diet. First of all let me say this...I. WANT. ICE CREAM. Or a doughnut or a cookie or even just some of the dried bananas my kids are eating right now. Mmmmmm. Kerby was really excited to be able to eat all the meat he wants, but even he was wanting carbs and sugar halfway through the day.
Supposedly we're supposed to wake up tomorrow morning having lost some weight, I sure hope that's true. This detox is supposed to chemically adjust the body into a high metabolic burn, along with detoxifying the body by flushing out toxins and excess water storage.
Hopefully this gets easier, but hey I can handle it for a few days. Then I can start the regular diet and have a few more options of what to eat.
For this detox (here's a very short run down) you eat
*all the green veggies and salad you want (except peas),
*all the meat you want (except pork), 2 oranges (one as an a.m. snack and one as an afternoon snack), *2 eggs,
*1/4 tsp. of Morton's Lite salt and
*at least six 8 oz. glasses of water per day.
Season food with any seasoning as long as it doesn't contain sugar or salt. You may use olive oil and vinegar or a low calorie Italian salad dressing on your salads.
NO peas, bread, pasta, milk, cheese or condiments. NO fruit or fruit juices (except the 2 oranges). NO gravies or dressings (except olive oil and vinegar or a low calorie Italian salad dressing).
There's a bit more to it that don't really apply to me, if you want to try this let me know and I can get you a full copy of the paper. I really hope this helps, I'll let you know each day how it's going. Today I really wanted sugar and got tired of eating meat and veggies but I really believe it will be worth it! Thanks Carrie for the info and congrats on losing over 30 lbs so far doing it!

Kendyl's Baptism
Today my beautiful niece Kendyl was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm so proud of you Kendyl, you're such a sweet, happy girl and I'm so happy for your perfect day! I love you so much! You're a great example to everyone!
Kendyl & Skylar
Afterward we had lunch and celebrated her birthday!
Opening presents. A super cute scripture case.
Kendyl got her ears pierced for her birthday so I got her an earring and necklace holder.
Here super cute birthday cake shaped like an 8! Love it Tina!
Skylar, Easton and Landon just playing around.

Cheesy Squash Casserole
I got this recipe from my sister Carrie and it is so delicious! I'll definitely be making this a lot. It calls for yellow squash but I had that and some zucchini so I used both and it was still really good. The kids scarfed it down, everyone loved it! Thanks Carrie for the yummy recipe. Levi had a good idea (my little chef who I hope will really become a chef and live close by so he can cook for us all the time) to put bacon crumbles on the top next time. I think I will!
Doesn't it look so good? YUM!
Recipe
By Carrie Coffen
Cheesy Squash Casserole
3 lbs yellow squash, sliced (I used some zucchini too)
1 lg onion, sliced
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. crushed Ritz crackers
1/4 c. butter
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. half & half
1/2 lb Velveeta Cheese, cubed
Preheat oven to 350 ยบ. Boil squash and onion in salted water until barely tender, drain. While squash is cooking prepare topping by melting 1/2 c. butter in skillet, saute crackers in butter until crisp and browned, set aside. Make a white sauce by melting 1/4 c. butter in a sauce pan, add cornstarch and half & half and mix together. Add Velveeta cheese, stir until smooth. Arrange squash and onion in 9x13 baking dish, pour white sauce over squash, top with cracker topping. Bake 25 min. or until hot and bubbly. Enjoy!

Paranormalcy
Today I finished reading this book Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. It's a really good book and I got the second book from the library at the same time so when I was done with this one I immediately wanted to pick up the next. The next one is called Supernaturally. There's also one coming out in July called Endlessly. This book reminded me a little of The Hour Glass Door series (if you haven't read those, read them!) and a little bit of Twilight. There are vampires but they aren't made "beautiful" in these books...at least not in Evie's (the main character) eyes. She sees Paranormal creatures for what they really are, she sees them how the world sees them and how they look underneath. You'll just have to read the books to know what I mean. These books are very clean, no swearing or anything bad at all. I have to admit for some reason it took me a few short chapters to get into the book but after that I didn't want to put it down. I love the characters and how she portrays all the creatures we all hear of in other books like werewolves, mermaids, hags and nymphs. Such a good book! Returning it to the library tomorrow, if you want to read it hurry in! Thanks Karrie for introducing them to me, let me know how you're liking The Maze Runner!

Levi's Track Meet
Today Levi had his first track meet. He did really good.
Here is is waiting for his turn in the 50 meter.
Finally, it's his turn and there are only 4 left.
He took 3rd place in his heat, I know there were only 4 boys but he was far enough ahead of the 4th I think he still would have done great!
Here he is waiting for the 400 meter.
Just about ready to go. He got to go in the first heat for this one.
He took 11th place out of 21. I think he would have done better but Kadin and I had been telling him to pace himself and then run his fastest with about 50 meters left. So, that's what he did. BUT by the time he got to 50 meters there were boys close to the finish line. He did pass up a lot of boys though, I think he just ran too slow in the beginning. At one point he was in 4th place. Kadin and Levi both want to keep running so I think we'll have to practice that strategy before they race again. They both really enjoy it!
Enjoy my very professional video!!!
Great job Levi! Oh in the softball throw he said he threw pretty far but not far enough for a flag (I didn't see it).

Carpet Stain
Today Skylar took some Ravioli into the front room (they're not aloud to have food in there). She sat it on the piano bench then left the room. Mia (our dog) knocked the bowl down and spilled the ravioli onto the carpet. So, I cleaned up the ravioli then sprayed the stain to clean it up.
I sprayed the left half with Resolve Spray N Wash and the right half with Oxy-Fast Stain & Odor Remover. Then I let it sit for a couple hours.
The Resolve Spray N Wash took out it's portion of the stain. The Oxy-Fast took out part of it.
I decided to see if Totally Awesome would get ride of the rest and it pretty much did. You can barely see it here, now that it's dry I can't see the stain at all. Spray N Wash, you ROCK! Totally Awesome, you're pretty awesome!
